Ruta Sepetys’ Between Shades of Gray Transforms into Dramatic Film

Author and speaker Ruta Sepetys‘ award-winning novel Between Shades of Gray has been adapted for the screen as a dramatic film, known as Ashes in the Snow, starring Bel Powley (Diary of a Teenage Girl)Powley’s character is Lina, a young girl who has been forced out of her home with her mother and brother and forced into Siberia during WWII; she secretly documents her struggles with the Soviet Guard and her own will to live so her fate and that of the Lithuanian people will never be forgotten.

Ashes in the Snow is set to start production this coming winter and will be directed by Marius Markevicius (The Other Dream Team)Producers Jonathan Schwartz and Zilvinas Naujokas are expected to co-produce with Markevicius.
