While many Patrick Dempsey fans consider his character’s recent death on the hit TV show Gray’s Anatomy to be a tragedy, Garth Stein fans consider it reason to celebrate! As Motorsport Magazine declared in a recent article, Dempsey will be venturing away from television acting in and turning his focus toward race-car driving, and making the long-awaited film version of Garth Stein’s The Art of Racing in the Rain:
“Aside from more racing in the World Endurance Championship, Dempsey has been working to turn the book “The Art of Racing in the Rain” into a motion picture.”
For the past six months, author Stein has been on a North American book tour promoting his newest novel A Sudden Light. In Question and Answer sessions with his fans across the country, he has invariably been asked for an update on the status of the big-screen version of their favorite book, The Art of Racing in the Rain
While Grey’s Anatomy fans have reason to weep, Stein won’t have to wait much longer to see the film rendering of Stein’s classic contemporary American novel.
