Congratulations to Young Adult author Maria Andreu for being named one of Latino Stories’ 2015 Top Ten “New” Latino Authors to Watch (and Read)! Latino Stories is a clearinghouse for news and information about Latino authors around the world and their writing.

Andreu is the recent author of an autobiographical young adult novel entitled The Secret Side of Empty, which tells the story of a teenage girl who is American in every way except for on paper. Brought to the U.S. as an infant, she finds herself an undocumented outsider in her own home a decade and a half later. Ms. Andreu’s lived experience of being an undocumented teenager informs this books and drives its powerful narrative
