Author and speaker Marja Mills was featured this week on the First Coast Connect podcast, part of the WJCT Public Broadcast in Jacksonville, Florida, to tell the story of how she met Harper Lee, the subject of her book The Mockingbird Next Door: Life with Harper Lee.
Mockingbird is Mills’ first book and is an extremely rare look into the private lives of To Kill a Mockingbird author Harper “Nelle” Lee and her sister, Alice. The Lee sisters opened up about their decades of living in Monroeville, Alabama and shared knowledge about the Deep South. They formed a bond with Mills and even allowed her to rent the house next door where she lived as she wrote their story.
Marja Mills can be found at home in Chicago or on the road engaging audiences around the country. To learn more about her schedule or to invite Ms. Mills to speak at your next event, contact Books In Common.
