Christina Baker Kline, author of Orphan Train

Summer is around the corner which means there are some amazing opportunities to listen to your favorite author. Here are a couple June events coordinated with Books in Common.

Christina Baker Kline is set to speak at the Colgate University Writers Conference in Hamilton, New York about her book, Orphan Train, among other writing topics. Orphan Train, is about a young girl and a widow who have unlikely connections in their history. The Colgate University Writers Conference will enjoy Christina’s presentation and insight on a relatively unknown piece of American history.

Mardi Jo Link is the Keynote Speaker at the Ann Arbor Book Festival: Writers Workshop in Ann Arbor, Mi. Mari Jo Link is the author of, Bootstrapper: From Broke to Badass on a Northern Michigan Farm. Mardi Jo Link’s memoir is about her struggle to prevent foreclosure on her 100 year-old farm after a divorce. The lessons she learns will resonate well with the Ann Arbor Book Festival participants.
