More than 350,000 plants around the world reproduce by seed. In his most recent book, entitled “The Triumph of Seeds: How Grains, Nuts, Kernels, Pulses, & Pips Conquered the Plant Kingdom and Shaped Human History”, conservation biologist and author Thor Hanson traces the fascinating history of plant reproduction and seed evolution. This week, Hanson will be presenting his book in several Seattle-area venues.

Hanson’s interest in seeds took root during his graduate studies, but it was his son’s keen interest in seeds that inspired Hanson to research and assemble this book, which is being called “essential reading for anyone who loves to see plants grow”.
Hanson’s first book, “The Impenetrable Forest: My Gorilla Years in Uganda”, won the 2008 USA Book News Award for nature writing. To invite Hanson to speak at your venue, contact Books In Common.
