Thor Hanson, author of The Impenetrable Forest and Feathers: The Evolution of a Natural Miracle, was recently announced as a Guggenheim Fellow for science writing. With this award, Thor Hanson has the opportunity to finish his third book, The Triumph of Seeds, which explores the necessity of seeds in nature, culture and history. As with all of Thor Hanson’s nature/environment books, the narrative and humorous tone in his books makes them accessible and enjoyable for all readers.

The Guggenheim Fellowship is a prestigious award granted to scholars and artists in a variety of fields.  Out of up to 4,000 applications annually approximately 200 Fellowships are awarded each year, according to
