On Monday, author and biologist Thor Hanson received the John Burroughs Medal for excellence in nature writing and natural history. Thor Hanson is the first Northwest author to win this award in more than twenty years.
Feathers has also won a Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association Book Award, an AAAS/Subaru SB&F Prize for Excellence in Science Books, a Library Journal commendation as Best Sci-Tech Book, and was a finalist for the prestigious Samuel Johnson Prize for Nonfiction.
