The immigrant debate deepened with a new article by Sonia Nazario, the Pulitzer-winner and author of Enrique’s Journey. In an op-ed for the New York Times, Sonia revealed another unintended harshness of American immigration policy: forcing immigrant children to defend themselves in court without lawyers.

Sonia Nazario’s nonfiction book, Enrique’s Journey, examines the trauma and difficulties caused when one Honduran mother has to leave her son behind while she emigrates to America for work. Enrique’s Journey is one of the top All Campus Reads selections in the US. Keep tuned to our website for more updates on Sonia’s speaking engagements around the country.
