Regina Calcaterra to Speak at New York Event June 22

June is Children’s Awareness Month and this month, on Wednesday, June 22, the Family and Children’s Association will host their scholarship fund reception. NYT Bestselling author, Regina Calcaterra will be the keynote speaker for the event. Her memoir, ETCHED IN SAND, tells the story of Regina and her four siblings who survived an abusive childhood, only to end up in the foster-care system. This coming-of-age story highlights that hope and perseverance can stand even through adversity.

Books In Common is proud to have helped organize this event for the Family and Children’s Association on Long Island. This is our first event working with this great organization, and we look forward to helping them find just the right speakers in the future. We wish them every success as this event as they raise funds and awareness of child safety and the need for protecting those of a tender age.
