In One Amazing Thing, nine strangers endure a natural disaster by sharing stories about one amazing thing that happened in their lives.
The Monroe, MI community, which selected Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni’s novel for this year’s One Book, One Community program, built on the spirit of the story by asking locals to share one amazing thing from their own lives. Stories have been printed in The Monroe Evening News, while video retellings will be shown at community read events and might even appear on local television stations.
