Chitra B. Divakaruni Named One of India’s 20 Most Influential Global Women

It is a well-known fact in the United States that March is National Women’s History month.  A sister celebration lesser-know to Americans also occurs in March: International Women’s Day, a day on which women and their achievements are celebrated around the world.

This year, in anticipation of International Women’s Day, the Economic Times of India named the “20 most influential global Indian women” and honored each for her contribution to and within the Indian diaspora. Topping this list was author Chitra Benerjee Divakaruni.
