Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni’s Sister of My Heart at Center of Plagiarism Scandal

The screenwriter for Pakistani television series Mena Naseeb has been publicly accused of plagiarism by award-winning author Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni. The screenwriter, Samira Fazal, allegedly based the scripts for Mena Naseeb on Divakaruni’s beloved book Sister of My Heart despite not having any legal right to appropriate Divakaruni’s characters or plot line. Adding insult to injury, Fazal even won an award for Mena Naseeb’s screenplay.
