This October marks the tenth annual Timberland Reads Together community reads program serving Southwest Washington. This year’s program, hosted by Timberland Regional Libraries, concerns food – the localvore movement and conscious eating – and it features local author Dylan Tomine, who recently wrote Closer to the Ground: An Outdoor Family’s Year on the Water, in the Woods, and at the Table.
Dylan Tomine, formerly a fly fishing guide, is now a writer, conservation advocate, blueberry farmer, and father. He and his family live on an island in Puget Sound, but he makes appearances around the country to discuss Closer to the Ground and the ideas it contains about the role that food plays in communities and families. If you are interested in hosting Tomine to your venue, contact Books In Common.
