The Neighborhood Library Association of Novi, Michigan recently announced that Karen Joy Fowler will be visiting Novi this month because her most recent novel, We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves is being showcased in Novi’s 2014 community reads program. This clever, insightful, and unusual family saga was selected for this community reads program after careful deliberation:
“Librarians from five neighboring libraries meet to carefully choose a book that appeals to a broad audience and that lends itself to good discussions and programs. We have been very successful with our book selections and author presentations over the past four years and are quite excited to have Karen Joy Fowler here to meet and talk with members of our communities.” – Julie Farkas, Novi Public Library Director
Fowler is the New York Times bestselling author of The Jane Austen Book Club and has written six novels and three short story collections. We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves was shortlisted for the 2014 Booker Prize for fiction. Fowler will wrap up the Neighborhood Library Association’s community reads program with a presentation to the community on Nov. 18 at the Novi Public Library.
