Liz Carlisle is a Lecturer in the Thinking Matters Program at Stanford
University and a Lecturer in Food Systems at UC Berkeley, where she
recently completed her Ph. D. in the Department of Geography. She is
the author of Lentil Underground, a general audience book based
on her research with diversified organic farmers on the northern Great
Plains. A native of Missoula, Montana, Carlisle is a former Legislative
Correspondent for Agriculture and Natural Resources in the office of
United States Senator Jon Tester.
