Kim Barnes

Idaho native Kim Barnes was the first member of her family to attend college, where she earned a degree each from Lewis-Clark State College, Washington State University, and the University of Montana (an MFA). Her works include the memoirs
In the Wilderness and
Hungry for the World, three novels (
Finding Caruso, A Country Called Home, and
In the Kingdom of Men), and dozens of essays, poems and short stories.
In the Wilderness received a PEN/Jerard Fund Award, a PNBA Award, and a Pulitzer nomination. Barnes lives on Moscow Mountain with her husband and animals.
